The role

As the Senior Acquisition Manager you will lead the delivery of complex land acquisition and compensation programs that enable public purpose outcomes across Property & Development NSW (PDNSW). You will provide strategic leadership and authoritative advice to support Government priorities manage risk ensure legislative compliance and promote fair transparent acquisition practices.

This role will see you develop acquisition strategies lead high-value and sensitive acquisition matters oversee valuation legal and technical specialist inputs and negotiate with landowners agencies advisers and other stakeholders to resolve complex matters and secure timely transaction outcomes. You will also manage acquisition budgets forward estimates and funding submissions and report on acquisition litigation financial and risk matters to executives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced acquisition leader who can navigate legislative commercial and community complexity balance competing stakeholder expectations and deliver defensible equitable outcomes in a high-profile environment.

What you will bring to the role

  • Extensive experience managing high-value land acquisition and compensation programs within tight timeframes and budgetary constraints while delivering public purpose outcomes.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience developing and delivering strategic land acquisition projects including strategies systems and process improvements that support accountability compliance and value-for-money outcomes.
  • Demonstrated awareness of the State Governments planning framework and its relationship to the acquisition disposal and management of lands for public purposes.
  • Extensive experience applying and interpreting the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act including associated legal processes as they apply to land acquisition.
  • Extensive experience managing professional consultants including valuation technical specialists and legal counsel to deliver successful project outcomes and support robust evidence-based decisions.

What is an essential requirement

  • Degree or equivalent qualifications in land economics property valuation or other relevant property related discipline.
