The opportunity:

Reporting to the General Counsel you will provide commercially pragmatic legal advice negotiate a broad range of research and commercial agreements manage one direct report and work closely with stakeholders across research clinical corporate and executive teams.

This is a varied and rewarding role offering exposure to cutting-edge research intellectual property clinical trials governance and strategic partnerships.


What youll do

  • Review draft and negotiate commercial research and clinical trial agreements
  • Provide timely legal advice across research corporate and operational matters
  • Support intellectual property collaboration and commercialisation activities
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify and manage legal risk
  • Lead legal education initiatives across the Institute
  • Build strong relationships with external legal advisers and key stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Legal & Compliance team

What youll bring

  • Admission as an Australian Legal Practitioner with 8 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong commercial contracting and negotiation experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior lawyers
  • A collaborative and pragmatic approach to legal problem-solving
