Senior Lecturer in Education and Research

• Drive impactful education and research that improves health outcomes in rural and remote communities across Western Australia.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners across health education justice and community sectors.
• Part-time (0.2 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 2 years.
• Base salary range: Level C $149909 $172441 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH) established by the Commonwealth Department of Health and administered by The University of Western Australia is a leading rural health training and research centre.

As part of a national network WACRH delivers multidisciplinary education and builds workforce capability across nursing allied health and community service professions. The Centre partners closely with rural remote and Aboriginal communities to improve health equity strengthen service delivery and advance evidence-based practice.

About the opportunity

• Design deliver and evaluate postgraduate micro-credential courses for health education and justice professionals across rural remote and metropolitan locations.
• Contribute to and lead applied research projects in areas such as workforce development primary health care systems health literacy and population health.
• Play a key role in advancing Family and Domestic Violence education and training including program evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Build and sustain partnerships with communities Aboriginal organisations government agencies and industry stakeholders to co-design impactful education and research initiatives.
• Contribute to academic leadership external engagement and the broader mission of improving health outcomes in underserved communities.

About you

• A relevant postgraduate qualification (or equivalent experience) in education public health social sciences or justice-related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering high-quality postgraduate or professional education ideally including micro-credentials or online learning.
• Experience contributing to applied or translational research with a focus on health social services or community-based outcomes.
• Knowledge of or experience in Family and Domestic Violence education service delivery or research.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary and cross-sector environments.

A current National Police Clearance Working with Children Check and C class drivers licence will be required by the successful addition the appointee must meet immunisation and vaccination requirements in accordance with the Australian Immunisation Handbook UWA guidelines and the WA Government Department of Health COVID-19 Health Worker and Residential Aged Care Worker Directions.
