The Opportunity
The Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics at Monash Business School is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic in Business Analytics. Business Analytics is a core strength of the Department underpinned by internationally recognised expertise in statistics statistical modelling and data science. We deliver leading undergraduate and postgraduate programs including an accredited Master of Business Analytics and maintain strong partnerships with industry government and the community. Our staff are internationally recognised for their research and leadership in open-source statistical software open and reproducible analytics and analytics for social good. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in statistical and machine learning artificial intelligence statistical computing data visualisation computational statistics or data science who are excited to contribute to our world-class research innovative teaching and growing engagement with industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting high-quality research and engaging in activities that enhance research addition to research the role involves preparing and delivering lectures workshops seminars etc. as part of the departments business courses. The candidate will also contribute to the development of course materials collaborating with senior staff to ensure content aligns with academic standards. Serving as a unit/subject coordinator the individual will oversee the administration and coordination of specific units within the curriculum.
The role requires offering academic support and guidance to students through consultations and advising sessions. Additionally the candidate will supervise the research projects of honours masters or other postgraduate students engaged in coursework. A range of administrative duties related to the subjects taught will also be undertaken ensuring smooth operation and compliance with institutional policies.
To be considered for this role you must hold a doctoral qualification in operations research operations management business analytics data science machine learning or a closely related discipline. You will have a proven track record of high-quality research and scholarly publications along with demonstrated ability to deliver engaging lectures workshops and seminars and to develop course materials and assessments.
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently while also fostering strong working relationships. You will have experience working in interdisciplinary teams and collaborating with external organisations including industry partners.
