Senior/Principal Power System Engineer Melbourne Leading Renewable Energy Developer
My client is a Melbourne based renewable energy developer backed by two of the most experienced long term investors in the Australian renewables sector. They develop construct and operate large scale wind solar and storage projects across the country and they are growing fast.
They are now looking for a Senior or Principal Power System Engineer to join their Grid and Power Systems team reporting directly to the Head of Grid and Power Systems.
What you will be doing
This role sits across the full project lifecycle from early stage feasibility through to operational performance. You will:
Support grid side due diligence on new generation and storage opportunities including acquisitions and partnering deals
Manage grid connection processes for development projects from feasibility through to registration and commissioning
Build and maintain relationships with AEMO NSPs and REZ governing bodies to help shape network development outcomes
Provide technical input into connection agreement negotiations and renewals for operational assets
Work closely with Asset Management to optimise losses peaking factors and maintenance scheduling
What they are looking for
Tertiary qualifications in electrical or power system engineering with 3 to 10 years in a similar role
Solid understanding of the NER the NEM and the Australian power grid. WEM and SWIS experience is a bonus
Experience with grid connection of inverter based generation or storage projects
Confidence in PSS/E PSCAD or DIgSILENT PowerFactory
A track record working alongside AEMO NSPs OEMs and grid consultants
The ability to explain complex technical concepts in plain English to both internal and external stakeholders
