About the Opportunity
Support Griffith Universitys financial planning and decision-making by delivering high-quality financial analysis modelling and insights across budgeting forecasting and performance reporting.
Working under broad direction you will translate complex financial and operational data into clear actionable insights that inform planning decision-making and financial sustainability. Youll contribute to integrated planning across revenue costs and workforce and work collaboratively with stakeholders across Finance and the broader University.
This role also supports the continuous improvement of financial planning processes and systems helping ensure they remain robust transparent and responsive to a changing funding and regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Universitys annual budget including financial models and supporting analysis.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Deliver financial modelling and analysis to support strategic initiatives business cases and operational planning.
- Support workforce planning and salary forecasting including analysis within systems such as TM1/Planning Analytics.
- Monitor financial performance analyse variances and identify trends risks and opportunities.
- Prepare regular financial reports and insights for stakeholders.
- Provide clear evidence-based financial advice and translate complex information into accessible insights.
- Contribute to improvements in financial models processes systems and data quality.
- Collaborate across Finance and the University to support integrated planning outcomes.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning budgeting forecasting and reporting in a complex organisation.
- Advanced Excel skills including financial modelling and analysis of large datasets.
- Strong understanding of cost drivers workforce planning and financial sustainability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work under broad direction manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs to deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.
- Experience with tools such as Power Query TM1 or Power BI is highly regarded.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance Accounting Economics or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- CA/CPA qualification (or progress towards) is desirable.

This is a full-time fixed term opportunity for 12 months based at Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations

Salary
HEW 8 - Base range - $117579.27 - $132273.33 17% super. Full package range - $137567.74 - $154759.79.
