Senior Financial Accountant

• Full time
• Three year fixed term contract with the possibility of extension
• Salary $120000 to $130000 per annum plus up to 15.75% superannuation.

About the role:

As Senior Financial Accountant you will provide expertfinancial leadership across the organisation ensuring statutorycompliance high-quality financial reporting and informeddecision-making. You will lead the preparation of the annual budgetand statutory financial statements coordinate external audits andcontribute to continuous improvement of financial systemsreporting processes and governance frameworks.

What youll bring to the role:

The ideal candidate will align with the Citys Values and beable to demonstrate the below competencies:

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting Commerce or a related discipline.
• Substantial experience in a senior financial / management accountant position preferably in Local Government.
• Highly developed knowledge of Accounting Standards and concepts.
• Understanding of the Local Government Act and associated Financial Management Regulations.
• Significant experience with large ERP or financial systems such as Technology One.
• Demonstrated experience or ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management in development of budgets and various financial reporting tasks.
• Experience in staff supervision/guidance.
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pre-employment requirements:

• Current C Class Drivers Licence.
• National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
• Proof of right to work in Australia.
• Pre-employment medical (arranged and paid for by the City).
