Resolve Recruit is partnering with a leading Commonwealth Government agency to engage a highly skilled Senior Detection & Response Engineer (SIEM/SOAR & Sentinel). Our client plays a pivotal role in supporting critical national operations and is seeking a technically accomplished analyst to design implement and optimise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) capabilities that strengthen and uplift the agencys cyber security posture. Working within Cyber Security Operations you will ensure security events are effectively ingested and correlated to support threat detection incident response and compliance with government security frameworks including the PSPF ISM and Essential Eight.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and implement log solutions for SIEM platforms encompassing log ingestion storage and querying.
- Build and maintain alerting and detection capabilities across SIEM and SOAR toolsets identifying and addressing gaps in both alerting and security event logging.
- Contribute to and develop comprehensive technical documentation covering SIEM solutions logging systems and implementation approaches.
- Investigate and implement improvements to uplift the agencys current security posture working collaboratively with third-party vendors and relevant business areas.
- Provide considered security advice to stakeholders team members and executive leadership to support informed decision-making.
- Work within established cyber security frameworks and take direction as part of a cohesive high-performing Cyber Security Operations team.
Key Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Azure and Microsoft Sentinel including the ability to leverage these toolsets to meet complex security requirements.
- Proven ability to ingest logs develop use cases and tune detection logic within SIEM environments.
- Experience documenting technical findings and implementing policies and procedures to meet organisational security requirements.
- Working knowledge of the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Essential Eight maturity framework with the ability to apply these in a practical setting.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and provide security advice to a range of audiences from technical peers to senior executives.
- Experience contributing effectively within a cyber security team environment including following direction and collaborating across business areas and external vendors.
