A position is available as a Senior Counsel APAC Employment Law. Working across the Asia Pacific region with a focus on Australia while also supporting 8 other countries including China and Japan you will be responsible for providing comprehensive advice on all aspects of employment and industrial relations law.
You will support and collaborate with partners across Human Resources (HR) (Business Partners Employee Relations IndustrialRelations Payroll Talent Compensation Total Rewards and Global Mobility) Environmental Health and Safety EnterpriseRisk Ethics & Compliance and business professionals across the regional CSL business units.
Reporting to the Global Head Labour & Employment Law you will
Provide succinct and direct employment law advice that is strategic business-focussed risk-conscious compliant and actionable
Be a subject matter expert and provide direct legal guidance on all Australian employment law matters including employment disputes restructures investigations terminations and compliance matters
Work with Industrial Relations to provide advice in relation to enterprise agreement strategy and negotiationsunion consultation and collective disputes
Manage and assess employment law items across APAC utilising local internal legal support where available
Oversee outside counsel and represent company where appropriate in litigation and agency matters
Your skills and experience
LLB or JD from an Australian university
Admission to practise in Victoria Australia
Demonstrated experience in Australian Employment law matters in-house experience desirable
Experience in conducting or overseeing complex employment related items and working effectively within a matrixed organisational structure
