TheRole
As our Brisbane project portfolio continues to grow we are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Controller to support the successful delivery of several station projects we are building across the city.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to play a key role in project financial performance while working alongside experienced project and commercial teams on these high-profile rail infrastructure jobs.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to;
Develop and maintain project budgets in coordination with project managers and finance teams. Monitor budget variances and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Work closely with project managers to evaluate change requests and update budgets accordingly.
Track and analyse project costs including expenditures budgets and forecasts to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial targets.
Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
Review contracts and agreements to ensure adherence to financial terms and conditions.
Liaise with project stakeholders including project managers finance teams contractors and clients to provide regular updates on project financial performance and address any cost-related queries or concerns.
Experience/Qualifications
Bachelors degree in finance Accounting Business Administration or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CPA CMA) preferred.
Proven experience in cost control or financial management preferably within the construction engineering or infrastructure sector.
Proficiency in financial modelling budgeting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial software applications.
Strong understanding of financial principles budgeting techniques and cost management practices.
Ability to analyse complex financial data identify trends and draw meaningful insights to support decision-making.
Prior experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects is desirable.
