An exciting opportunity has arisen withinNSW Fair Trading Rental Branchin the Grants & FundsTeamforaSenior Compensation Funds Officer.

Wereseeking amotivatedindividual to provide high-level advice and support services forpeople making claims under relevant Acts including case management for peoplerequiringa high levelof is a unique role thatsupports the administration of NSWs statutory compensation schemes helpingconsumers access financial redressby providing comprehensive informationin line with legislation and support through disputes processes to provide apositive customer experience.

Primary purpose of the role
Supervise and build capability of the teamto ensure effective service delivery by allocating and co-ordinating workflowswhile maintaining a portfolio of claims for assessment.

Key accountabilities:

Assist in leading the team to ensure it operates efficiently andeffectively and contributes to Compensation Funds and Customer Serviceobjectives including co-ordinating work allocation and undertaking morecomplex claim matters
Develop and implement systems andprocedures to ensure the achievement of team objectives consistent withCompensation Fund Unit service commitments and quality management principles
Translate legislative and organisationalrequirements into operational policies and procedures with a commitment tocontinuous improvement reviewing staff performance providing feedbackarranging appropriate courses and ensuring staff are coached and mentored whenrequired
Monitor analyse and evaluate workvolumes report new or emerging issues or trends which may include statisticalresults and recommend changes and strategies to enhance team and CompensationFunds Customer Service activities and services
Prepare high level submissions andcomplex correspondence as required
Develop and maintain co-operative andproductive working relationships with key stakeholders and external serviceproviders ensuring optimum delivery of services
Support the training and capabilitydevelopment of team members identify and reduce errors and contribute tocontinuous improvement initiatives.
Provide support to the business unit inthe form of project co-ordination staff management and various financial andadministrative duties when required.

Key challenges:

Supporting a team within a high volumehigh pressure environment determining priorities and completing projectswithin tight timeframes
Maintaining knowledge of a wide range ofcorporate initiatives and organisational strategies plans and objectives torespond quickly to changing circumstances and priorities
Developing processes and plans to enhanceteam efficiency acting as a change agent leading staff through change anddetermining solutions to problems as they arise
