JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Application Specialist is responsiblefor the effective operation support and maintenance of Councils CorporateApplications. Ensuring applications are maintained to vendor requirementsindustry best practices and pursue innovative approaches to support Councilsoperations and the customer experience.
The role is responsible for maintaininghigh-quality corporate applications resolving complex technical issuesleading application upgrades and enhancement projects and ensuring incidentsand system changes are managed in accordance with Councils IT ServiceManagement procedures. You will build strong relationships with businessstakeholders vendors and technical teams deliver effective data analysis andreporting oversee system integrations and maintain a secure and controlledapplication environment through auditing and preventative maintenance. Theposition promotes Councils professional and customer focused values througheffective communication collaboration and service delivery.
ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant willhave:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Minimum five (5) years experience supporting and administering enterprise corporate applications.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and supporting core corporate business applications including resolving complex application problems in conjunction with business stakeholders and software vendors.
- Experience developing innovative solutions to business problems through research and application of in-depth technical expertise.
- Extensive experience applying change management discipline including documentation of IT processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience managing stakeholder relationships including liaising with vendors external consultants and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in self-management including adapting your approach to overcome obstacles and re-prioritise conflicting or competing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Project delivery experience including leading or supporting application upgrades and enhancement projects.
- Strong knowledge of database administration reporting tools data modelling and SQL queries
- Excellent relationship management skills with a demonstrated ability to proactively provide high quality customer service and vendor management ideally within a local government setting.
