About the Role
North Coast Local Land Services are keen to hear from highly skilled Agricultural Advisors interested in contributing to the NHT Climate Smart Agriculture Program. The project aims to enhance agricultural sustainability and productivity.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver agricultural production programs advisory and extension services to support regional agricultural producers and to improve productivity while sustaining and managing our landscapes.
This is a dream job for an experienced agricultural programs facilitator who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping farmers manage their land for productive profitable and sustainable this role you will facilitate farmer group participation in property planning workshops across the North Coast region working closely with an enthusiastic and experienced Sustainable Agriculture team.
In addition this position will provide support to customers to undertake emergency planning preparedness response and recovery as well as contribute to the development and implementation of LLS strategic plans and respond to state and national objectives.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Strong agronomic facilitation skills and knowledge of contemporary and emerging trends and issues in agriculture across a diverse range of sectors.
- Experience in the coordination and delivery of extension and/or training programs specifically related to agriculture or land management.
- Excellent communication skills to engage influence and collaborate with people across a range of multi-disciplinary teams within the organisation and across the community including external partners stakeholders funding bodies landholders and other interest groups.
- The ability to think strategically and understand and apply complex information where needed.
- A willingness to work as part of a technical team and to support and contribute to the work they do.
- A can-do attitude with the confidence to manage self and others under conflicting priorities and provide practical solutions to issues that may arise.
- Advanced project management skills.
- Relevant degree in Agriculture Sustainable Land Management or relevant experience.
- Current valid NSW Driver License and the ability and willingness to travel.
