About the team and role:

Payroll Services manages all functions and queries related to staff pay benefits and superannuation. The team ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting access to entitlements and retirement contributions.

The Senior Adviser Payroll Services delivers high quality advice and customer service solutions ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of a range of payroll leave superannuation and associated taxation matters. The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy integrity and timely maintenance of people-related records in the Human Resources (HR) Information System while upholding the quality of data input.

As a Senior Adviser Payroll Services you will:

• Lead and manage the Universitys fortnightly payroll operations ensuring accurate and timely salary payments for local and international staff.
• Oversee payroll administration activities including superannuation payroll tax leave and pay reconciliations salary sacrifice and clearing account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with University policies procedures and legislative requirements while maintaining high standards of data accuracy and integrity.
• Investigate payroll issues identify practical solutions and provide accurate ethical and value-adding advice to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including UniSuper and Deakin Digital to improve payroll processes system functionality and customer experience.

To be successful youll have:

• A Degree with subsequent relevant experience; or
• Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or
• An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
• Demonstrated strong experience in delivering projects and leading initiatives to successful outcomes
• Significant experience in the provision of payroll services and HR advice in a large complex organisation.
• Experience in processing a fortnightly payroll.
• Experience using an integrated HR information system including payroll functionality.
