Job Summary
Are you aSenior Administration Officer ready to make a lasting impact We are currently seeking passionate and experienced Senior Administration Officers to join our team in our newly established Maternity Department. The successful candidate will be available to work across a 7 day roster between the hours of 6am-8pm.
Based at our Springfield campus this role will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield which opened early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU maternity emergency and medical surgical services its set to care for over 200000 patients annually.
Salary range: $39.79 - $44.25 per hour plus superannuation andaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900 access to many staff benefits!
What youll be doing
This position is for a Senior Administration Officer and your role will involve but not limited to:
- Providing exceptional customer service to patients and clients
- Processing public and private patient admissions transfers and discharges and the preparation of clinical forms
- Completing and interpreting online eligibility checks and relevant admission paperwork for private patients
- Management of outpatient appointments and emergency presentations through Pregnancy Assessment Centre
- Registration of all public and private births
- Providing administrative support to clinical staff
- Maintaining a high level of discretion and confidentiality complying with administration and financial policy and procedures maintaining accurate current and accessible files
- Exercising judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined
About you
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Highly experienced in providing medical administration support.
- Highly developed time management and organisational skills
- Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
- Knowledge of Health Funds
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively within a busy fast-paced demanding environment.
