We are seekinga Senior Accountant to join our Accounts Department at our Thomastown Head Office.

About the Roles

This role holds full ownership of the finance function and operates as the sole finance professional within the business. This is a standalone role responsible for end-to-end finance operations providing direct support to the Managing Director and acting as the single source of truth for all financial data. The role demands a high degree of autonomy accuracy and initiative across the full finance lifecycle including transaction processing payroll compliance financial reporting and business performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records including general ledger entries reconciliations and cashbook.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare and lodge BAS PAYG GST returns payroll tax long service leave and superannuation obligations in accordance with ATO regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and applicable tax laws.
  • Monitor cash flow budgets and forecasting.
  • Support external audit processes and liaise with auditors as required.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Maintain integrity of financial records and ensure appropriate controls are in place around payments payroll and data access.
  • Contribute to broader business operations and administrative functions as required operating autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
What you bring to the role:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting finance or a related discipline (Bachelor of Accounting/Accountancy or equivalent preferred).
  • Currently undertaking or working towards professional accreditation (CPA or CA).
  • Minimum of 2 4 years experience in a senior accounting finance or lead accountant role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel) and accounting software (experience with systems such as Goldmine Templa or HR3 are highly favourable).
  • Demonstrated ability to support process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Previous experience in a medium to large organisation or multi-site environment.
  • Standard business hours with occasional early mornings or after-hours work.
