Senior Account Executive , ANZ Public Sector
Job Summary
The Senior Account Manager will work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment alongside Solutions Architects Professional Services and Partner teams to deliver innovative cloud solutions that improve public sector outcomes. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy build strong executive relationships and act as the primary commercial point of contact for your accounts.
Key job responsibilities
Develop and execute account plans for assigned public sector customers driving revenue growth and cloud adoption
Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders (Director/SES level) across government agencies
Manage a robust sales pipeline from lead generation through qualification proposal negotiation and close
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Solutions Architects Technical Account Managers Professional Services and Partners to deliver customer outcomes
Identify customer business challenges and map AWS solutions to deliver measurable value
Navigate government procurement processes including panel arrangements RFPs/RFTs and standing offers
Present business reviews and account updates to sales leadership on a regular cadence
Contribute to team knowledge sharing process improvement and best practice development
Represent AWS at industry events customer meetings and partner forums
Stay informed on public sector trends including digital strategy data sovereignty cybersecurity and AI/ML adoption
Meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets
- 7 years of technology related sales business development or equivalent experience
- Experience in management of large complex enterprise accounts or equivalent
- Experience and track record of exceeding sales goals
- Experience with government procurement and contracting process
- Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of the digital and search landscape
- Experience selling cloud solutions at a software company or equivalent
- 3 years of working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies experience
- Knowledge of security technology and concepts (Authentication Authorization Single sign-on Cryptography etc.)
- Knowledge of AWS Infrastructure
- Experience in digital transformation programs within government healthcare or education
- Australian government security clearance (NV1) or ability to obtain one
