Scripps Staff Scientist

Ph.D. and/or MD in an appropriate scientific discipline required. A minimum of 2 years postdoctoral experience.

Under the PIs supervision responsible for chemical synthesis and design of molecules intended to be studied for biological use. Requires an ability to review the literature to optimize protocols and to use lab instrumentation to validate experimental results. Must work well within project teams to understand and address problems with existing leads.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conducting research in the design of small molecules designed to treat viral infections.
• Compiling and analyzing data and presenting research findings at lab meetings project team meetings conferences seminars or symposia.
• Performing group jobs such as instrument maintenance.
• Assisting the PI in writing abstracts and/or grant proposals and performing other related duties within the scope of the position as designated by the PI.

Commensurate with experience.
