This role sits within the Technology and Data Solutions Supply Chain & Corporate Domain. The SAP Technical Manager is responsible for leading SAP platform operations and overseeing the delivery of technical solutions. The role ensures that SAP platforms and cloud services are resilient scalable secure and well integrated while aligning with customer needs and supporting the organisations broader strategic objectives.

The SAP Technical Manager ensures the stability and security of mission-critical SAP platforms while using automation and AI-driven insights to improve efficiency and deliver scalable SAP cloud services for Cochlears business units. The role works closely with SAP Technology and Data Solutions peers and strategic programs to ensure SAP platforms and cloud services remain consistently available well governed and reliably promoted through the SAP landscape. The ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment supporting the stability of the environment is key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for SAP technical platforms ensuring alignment with business objectives and target-state architecture.
  • Lead the delivery enhancement and support of SAP platform solutions from requirements through implementation testing and deployment.
  • Ensure SAP platforms and cloud services are resilient secure scalable and cost-effective with effective governance and capacity management.
  • Oversee platform integration configuration management change control and release activities to maintain a stable and reliable SAP environment.
  • Monitor platform performance using metrics and analytics proactively addressing risks service issues and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Lead incident and problem management ensuring timely resolution of complex technical issues and prevention of recurring problems.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders Technology & Data Solutions teams SAP vendors and delivery programs to ensure RUN and CHANGE initiatives are delivered successfully and within budget.
  • Drive alignment with SIAM processes ensuring effective service management stakeholder engagement and operational excellence.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive operational documentation deployment frameworks and knowledge management practices.
  • Lead and develop the SAP Technical & Platform team fostering a collaborative customer-focused and safety-oriented culture.
  • Manage team performance resource allocation coaching capability development and talent retention to support current and future business needs.

Minimum:

  • Experience managing and developing technical teams.
  • Experience with theSAPplatforms and advanced technical support for integrations.
  • Proficiency in managing deployment processes and configuration management.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication andpeople skillsto coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of organisational IT processes and how IT supports business operations.

Ideal:

  • Certifications such as ITIL or relevant platform certifications.
  • Advanced training or coursework in platform management or IT service management.
  • Expertise in advanced incident problem and service level management practices.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills with experience engaging and managing expectations.
  • Ability to mentor and develop team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Experience driving process improvements and implementing best practices in IT support services.
