The Role
Network Steelisseekingan experienced and proactive Safety Manager to lead the design implementation and continuous improvement of safety systems across our operations.
Based full-time at our Cleveland QLD siteworkingacrossvarious siteyou will play a key role in embedding a strong accountable safety culture while ensuring effective risk management and compliance across the business.
Reporting to the Head of HR& Safety you will partner closely with leaders to strengthen safety capability drive continuous improvement and ensure our people go home safe to their families every day.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Systems Design & Continuous Improvement
- Design implement and continuously improve integrated safety management systems
- Establish standards procedures and controls aligned with operational risk profiles
- Monitor system effectiveness through audits data analysis and feedback loops
Safety Culture & Leadership Development
- Develop and implement initiatives that build a proactive and high-performing safety culture
- Coach and mentor leaders to strengthen safety capability and accountability
- Promote visible leadership and engagement across all levels
Incident Management & Risk Oversight
- Oversee incident management processes including reporting investigation and corrective actions
- Support and guide leaders to ensure quality and consistency in investigations
- Analyse incident trends and risk data to inform preventative strategies
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant OHS/WHS legislation and standards
- Manage audits inspections and regulatory interactions
- Provideexpert advice on compliance obligations and organisational risk
Key Criteria
Essential:
- Proven experience in safety management systems design and implementation
- Strong knowledge of OHS/WHS legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to influence coach and develop leaders at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Experience in incident investigation and risk management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Desirable:
- Experience within construction manufacturing or heavy industry environments
- Experience working across operational environments
