Key purpose of the role:
The Risk and Compliance Senior Analyst role performs and manages recurring risk and compliance activities to strengthen risk maturity support regulatory obligations and ensure risk considerations are integrated into business operations decision-making and change initiatives.
Your Team
The Line 1 Risk and Compliance team supports the day-to-day management of risk and compliance across the ASX Supervision division which comprises of Participants Supervision and Listings Supervision. The team plays a key role in the embedment of ASXs operational risk and compliance strategy as well as the uplift of risk maturity within the division.
Reporting to the Risk and Compliance Partner the Risk and Compliance Senior Analyst role supports the effective operation of risk and compliance management practices across ASX Supervision by coordinating risk and control activities providing analysis and reporting and supporting the implementation of risk and compliance initiatives. The role will work closely with business stakeholders and the Risk & Compliance Partner to identify assess monitor and report risks obligations and control effectiveness helping to strengthen risk maturity and support compliance with ASX regulatory and governance requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain risk registers and support the documentation of risk events causes impacts controls and treatment plans.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of risk profiles key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk reporting dashboards.
- Perform control testing activities and assurance activities including evidence collection assessment documentation and tracking of remediation actions.
- Assist business stakeholders in documenting controls and identifying opportunities to strengthen the control environment.
- Support the end-to-end management of incidents issues and remediation actions.
- Track and report action implementation and completion ensuring evidence is appropriately documented and retained.
- Assist in mapping obligations to controls processes and accountable owners.
- Coordinate compliance assessments and support the preparation of compliance reporting and attestations.
- Contribute to risk maturity uplift initiatives and transformation programs.
Your experience and qualifications
Must have
- Gained 3 years experience working within a Line 1 risk function.
- Experience supporting risk and compliance assessments control testing & uplift and incident & issue management.
- Strong analytical documentation writing and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple pieces of work concurrently across various interrelated initiatives and workstreams.
- Proven ability to build strong internal relationships and collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Welldeveloped planning and prioritisation skills with a demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes to agreed deadlines.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with process mapping control design or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Advanced data analysis and reporting skills including proficiency in Excel Power BI or other reporting tools.
- Firsthand experience implementing operational risk management frameworks and control assurance methodologies.
- Strong understanding of financial markets market infrastructure or regulated financial service environments.
