Job Summary


The Role

As the Respectful University Prevention Specialist you will lead the delivery of impactful prevention programs that embed a culture of safety respect and inclusion across a diverse university community.

In this role you will:

  • Design coordinate and evaluate evidence-informed trauma-informed prevention education programs that address gender-based violence and promote respectful behaviours across the University
  • Deliver engaging education and training and awareness activities to diverse cohorts including students staff and leaders tailored to different audiences and contexts
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with students staff and stakeholders including those with lived experience to co-design and enhance initiatives
  • Lead and support a team of Peer Leader and Lived Experience Student Consultants providing day-to-day leadership coaching and coordination
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of awareness activities campaigns and engagement initiatives that drive cultural change and prevent harm
  • Contribute to reporting policy development and compliance activities aligned with legislative and sector requirements including the National Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence

This 2-year fixed-term position is full-time at a Higher Education Worker level8 and is based at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal Land)


How will you inspire us

You are a relational and values-driven professional with a strong grasp of complex legislation and policy who creates respectful environments and empowers others through their work.

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in the development coordination delivery and evaluation of primary prevention or education programs and a demonstrated understanding of evidence informed trauma informed practice
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating programs projects or initiatives in a complex organisation including responsibility for reporting data collection and compliance activities.
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and bring together people from different areas to participate in School/Division or University wide initiatives.
  • Experience in the higher education sector or community services environment.(Desirable)
