Job Summary

Resource (Workforce) Manager

  • Location Parramatta Flexible working available
  • Employment type Temporary full-time to 30 June 2027 with possibility of extension
  • Grade Clerk Grade 9/10
  • Salary $120859 to $146945 pa plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

Are you a strategic thinker analytical with proven stakeholder skills and attention to detail Do you have a passion for optimising workforce efficiency Working with a supportive team you will be leading the planning forecasting and real-time management of our IT project workforce at the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). In this pivotal role youll ensure we have the right people in the right place at the right time at optimal cost maximising productivity while maintaining exceptional service levels.

What youll do

Youll partner with Program Managers Project Managers Project Team Members Support Teams and senior leadership to align staffing strategies with business goals using data-driven insights and understanding of the people request and demand requirements to enable project success while driving and delivering continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism diplomacy and impartiality.
  • Experience managing large and diverse workforces across multiple programs portfolios or business units balancing operational requirements with strategic workforce objectives.
  • Exceptional attention to detail ensuring the accuracy of workforce data resource allocations reporting and planning activities while managing competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance big-picture workforce planning with day-to-day operational resource management and issue resolution.
  • Experience using workforce data utilisation metrics and resource insights to inform decision-making identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proven capability in managing workforce risks resource constraints and competing demands while maintaining stakeholder confidence and delivery outcomes.
