Asa RAN you will promote wellbeing treat illness maintain health systems tosupport Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Services (PAMS) core business andencourage community health action in order to contribute to better healthoutcomes for people within the Eastern Pilbara desert communities of JigalongParnngurr Punmu and Kunawarritji.

KeyResponsibilities:

Provideprimary health care services as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Deliversafe effective care using CARPA guidelines and Communicare.

Maintainaccurate clinical records and client follow-up.

Participatein a 24-hour on-call roster.

Administermedications and immunisations in line with AHPRA and legislative requirements.

Providehealth education chronic disease management and health promotion activities.

Supportquality care outcomes and maximise Medicare claiming opportunities.

About You:

To beconsidered for this position you must have:

CurrentAHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 yearspost-registration experience.

Demonstratedpractice in line with NMBA Registered Nurse Standards and Code of Conduct.

Experienceworking in a multidisciplinary primary health care team including teamwork andconflict resolution skills.

Strongprimary health care knowledge and understanding of the Remote Area Nurse (RAN)scope of practice.

Understandingof primary health care principles and the Aboriginal Community ControlledHealth Service model.

Commitmentto culturally safe practice with respect for Aboriginal culture and anunderstanding of the health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres StraitIslander peoples.

Strongwritten verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Experienceusing electronic patient management systems preferably Communicare.

CurrentUnderstanding Vaccines and National Immunisation Program Certificate (orwillingness to obtain within 6 weeks).

Currenti-STAT/point-of-care testing qualification (or willingness to obtain within 6weeks).

CurrentFirst Aid and/or Intermediate/Advanced Life Support certification.

Willingnessto travel and work across Jigalong Parnngurr Punmu and Kunawarritji asrequired.

Theposition involves working with a multicultural organisation where the majorityof staff clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal or Torres StraitIslander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issuesaffecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability tocommunicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres StraitIslander people.

With anadministrative hub based in Newman in the Pilbara region of Western AustraliaThe Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS) provides holistic primaryhealth care to the individuals and families within the remote communities ofJigalong Parnngurr Punmu and Kunawarritji.

PAMS aims toimprove the standard of health of the Martu people and all Aboriginal peopleliving in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia through the provision ofcommunity based comprehensive primary health care services. We exist topromote the health and well-being of individual community members and torelieve sickness and the suffering of the indigenous community as a whole. Weare passionate about providing the highest standard of patient care whilstincorporating a holistic approach toward diagnosis and management of illness.
