About the role

Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking Registered Nurses to join our Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and Cardiothoracic team in a part-time (36 hours per week) maximum-term contract (up to 12 months).

Mater has recently finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscopes Gold Coast Private Hospital marking a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate healthcare to Queensland communities.

Based at our Gold Coast Campus in Southport you will be part of our state-of-the-art 339-bed facility established in 2016. Our hospital delivers a comprehensive range of services across Emergency Medical Services Orthopaedics Bariatrics Neurosurgery Plastics ENT General Surgery Obstetrics Cardiac Care and Oncology.

Salary range: $44.06 - $56.52 per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing

  • Delivery of exceptional patient care demonstrating a level of skill in clinical decision making and hands-on caregiving for a range of acute cardiac vascular and medical conditions (including post intervention)
  • Deliver appropriate and accurate application of clinical assessment procedures to evaluate medical health status to identify and apply timely care intervention for best patient outcomes
  • Providing leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Promoting evidence-based practice and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring quality and risk management principles are integrated into daily clinical practice.
  • Working collaboratively with nursing medical and allied health teams to provide exceptional care every time.
  • Maintaining and developing professional knowledge and clinical competencies through ongoing learning and development.

About you

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.
  • Considerable demonstrated experience in adult cardiology
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to delivering patient-centred care and achieving positive clinical outcomes.
  • A strong work ethic positive attitude and commitment to role modelling Maters values.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care safety and service delivery.
  • Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including mornings afternoons and night shifts.
