Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Registered Nurses to join us in a mixture of full-time and part-time roles. Based at our Springfield campus these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield which has newly opened. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU maternity emergency and medical surgical services its set to care for over 200000 patients annually.

The Medical Unit offers a variety of opportunities to care for patients that have specialised care needs across 40 beds. This includes 20 acute care telemetry beds oncology hematology high flow respiratory and general medicine. The Medical Unit is a supportive team of Nurses Doctors and Allied Health staff who together care for patients carers and family whilst they are at Mater hospital.

Salary range:$42.99 - $55.14 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15900 access to many staff benefits!

What youll be doing

The Registered Nurse performs all aspects of Nursing care including patient advocacy with particular consideration to the physical emotional and spiritual needs of each patient in a safe efficient and patient focussed manner contributing to optimal patient outcomes.

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater. Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Utilising a structured approach carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients
• Within scope of practice implements planned evidence-based nursing interventions
• Act as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to procedures
• Contribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety security and personal integrity of individual patients and groups
• Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices
• Comply with organisational policies procedures work instructions and guidelines

About you

You will have a minimum of 12 months full time experience in Acute Medical as a Registered Nurse:

• Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
• Considerable demonstrated experience the area in which you are applying for
• High level skills in problem-solving communication coordination and time management
• The ability to contribute effectively and efficiently within a busy multidisciplinary team environment
• While not essential applicants who currently have or are studying towards a tertiary qualification within the relevant clinical speciality would be highly regarded
