As a Regional Safety Advisor you will play a key role in supporting the development implementation and oversight of safety strategies frameworks policies and procedures across Qantas Group regional business areas. Working closely with operational leaders and frontline teams youll help drive a proactive safety culture ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support the identification mitigation and management of workplace risks.

This role provides an opportunity to become a trusted advisor to the business influencing positive safety outcomes and partnering with stakeholders to continuously improve safety performance across a diverse operational environment.

Youll be responsible for

  • Providing expert health safety and environmental advice and support to leaders and employees across multiple business units
  • Promoting safe systems of work and supporting compliance with relevant legislation codes of practice and internal safety standards.
  • Coaching and mentoring leaders to strengthen safety capability and foster a positive safety culture.
  • Supporting the implementation of safety programs initiatives forums training activities and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Providing specialist support for audits inspections and investigations including evidence gathering corrective action management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Analysing performance data and identifying opportunities to improve safety outcomes and operational practices.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships across the Qantas Group to influence positive business outcomes.
  • Supporting risk management activities and promoting proactive hazard identification and mitigation strategies.

What youll bring

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or higher).
  • Minimum two years experience in a Workplace Health and Safety role.
  • Sound understanding of WHS legislation and safety management principles.
  • Experience developing and implementing safety strategies within a large operational environment.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with leaders employees and regulators.
  • Strong stakeholder management influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental management principles and an understanding of Human Factors.
