About the role and where you will be working:

Southern Cross Care WA Inc. is seeking a dedicated team member to join our Community Options program which operates three residential mental health houses across Western Australia.

Based in Claremont Community Options provides 24/7 residential support for adults experiencing mental health challenges. Our program offers a safe structured and recoveryfocused environment for residents aged 18 to 65 who are transitioning from longterm hospital care back into the community.

This position is a Night Shift role working 60 hours per fortnight on a rotating roster.

Youll be part of a compassionate multidisciplinary team committed to empowering residents to build independence stability and confidence as they work toward their recovery goals.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Using the recovery approach youll provide psychosocialsupport that is recovery orientated. This is achieved by the following:

• Ensuring they are drivers of their own recovery
• Implement maintain review and support Individual Recovery Plans (IRPs)
• Identifying and building connection with external support networks that will promote client connectedness
• Promote the development and wellbeing of each client in a manner that reflects team coordination and cooperation

Youre someone who can build trust easily relate to others with understanding and provide steady support to individuals living with complex mental health conditions.

While qualifications in mental health are highly regarded we also welcome applicants who are currently studying in this field and eager to grow their skills.

If needed well provide medication competence training and as you gain experience youll have the opportunity to develop into an approved supervisor expanding your capability and career pathway within the service.

To be considered for this role youll need:

• Certificate III in Mental Health or a higher qualification or equivalent in experience will guide you success within this role
• Experience working with people experiencing mental health conditions
• Commitment to facilitating recovery with individualised support services
• Initiative & comfortable working independently
• Great conversational influencing & negotiating skills
• An ability to plan & problem solve
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster
