Were looking for a Recoveries Officer to provide specialist support and process recovery activity within the Workers Compensation Claims team.

This role requires proven hands-on Workers Compensation experience it is a mandatory non-negotiable requirement.

The role will be responsible for processing monetary financials in association with Workers Compensation Claims. This role is based in Sydney and will be permanent full-time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of S151z recovery claims
  • Ensure that all actions and tasks undertaken are in compliance with icares requirements
  • Ensure compliance with GIO internal policies and procedures including the Injury Management Program and Technical / Procedural Manuals
  • Ensure full compliance with Workers Compensation legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation policies and procedures when managing the provision of information products and services to customers
  • Maintain current case management legislative and regulatory knowledge through active participation in training
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to Workers Compensation claims staff on recoveries
  • Maximise recovery opportunities to meet KPI measures set by icare
  • Adhere to business practices to achieve Balanced Scorecard targets

Skills & Experience Required
  • Demonstrated experience working within the Workers Compensation industry (Mandatory)
  • Practical experience in Workers Compensation recoveries or closely aligned claims functions (Mandatory)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of claims management practices
  • Demonstrated experience using web-based administration systems
  • Solid understanding of recovery procedures within the icare scheme (highly regarded)
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Workers Compensation Act 1987
    • Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998
    • Relevant amendments and associated legislation
  • Understanding of case law governing third-party recoveries
