Job Summary

The RAES Support Officer is responsible for ensuring effective efficient and high-quality delivery of all RAES services

to support short and long-term job seekers to:

Identify and overcome barriers to employment participation

Secure sustainable employment

Appropriate referral to suitable activities job vacancies or other appropriate services

This will involve sound working knowledge of all services and aspects of RAES business and processes.

This position will also involve working as part of a team to achieve the overall aims of the program

as well as building strong and influential internal and external relationships that adhere to compliance within agreements.

Remuneration package:

Employment Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $76963.03 per annum (pro-rata)

Entitlements/Benefits: 6 Weeks Annual Leave 2 Weeks Sick Leave 2 Weeks Ancillary Leave 1 RDO per Month

Location: Kalanos CDP Administration Office 2/3 First Street Katherine NT

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week 7.5 hours per day Monday to Friday 08:00am 4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

Follow work procedures as directed by the RAES Administration Team Leader to achieve operational and financial objectives

Deliver programs in accordance with contractual requirements and individual targets.

Implement case management principles and practices.

Engaging referred job seekers and raising their awareness of the services and benefits of participating in RAES by undertaking arranged non-vocational and certified training and taking up suitable offers of work experience and employment.

redirecting queries to appropriate services

Assist jobseekers to identify their barriers to employment then work with them to develop strategies and solutions to overcome them.

Develop goals and actions to achieve these goals with the jobseeker.

Develop resumes & cover letters with Jobseekers to access employment opportunities.

Organise transport to participate in a range of activities appointments and job interviews.

Liaise with employers to assist jobseekers to maximise participation and employment in local jobs.

Essential Competencies (knowledge skills and attributes):

Competent use of computer software packages such as word excel email and internet

Ability to work in a team and to act proactively independently and creatively to overcome challenges as needed

Cross cultural awareness and effective communication skills (both Oral and Written)

Working knowledge of EEO principles and practices

Working knowledge of WHS principles and practices

Understanding of RAES guidelines policies and procedures

Demonstrate a willingness to take action to support a Jobseeker or Employer and show initiative without

being asked or directed by others

Fully COVID-19 Vaccinated

Mandatory Requirements:

Current drivers licence and willingness to travel within RAES region 31.

Current Police Check

Working with Childrens Clearance

Indigenous and/or Torres Strait Islander persons encouraged to apply
