QA Test Engineer (UnixLinux)
Job Summary
As a QA Test Engineer (Unix/Linux) reporting to Director Quality Assurance youll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Nasdaqs market surveillance technology platforms that power compliance and oversight across more than 65 markets globally.

Key Responsibilities
Design implement and execute dynamic test cases across back-end and server-side systems to ensure software meets defined standards and client requirements.
Track and manage defects and test progress through JIRA ensuring all issues are resolved in a timely and structured manner.
Use and enhance existing automation testing frameworks (Jenkins/Docker) to support daily QA operations and improve team efficiency.
Document and propose release engineering procedures enabling continuous review and improvement of delivery processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze process data and contribute to best practices including exposure to AWS-hosted cloud solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
3-5 years of experience as a server-side or back-end tester with a proven track record in UNIX/Linux environments including command-line tools and regular expressions (e.g. grep sed perl awk).
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills with a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
Clear communicator with the ability to challenge ambiguous requirements and present testing strategies confidently to diverse audiences.
Experience working collaboratively in team environments with a focus on shared goals and business best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Linux-based scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
Background in developing and maintaining testing tools or frameworks for broader team use.
Familiarity with testing applications or services hosted on AW
This position is located in Sydney Australia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 2 days a week in-office (may increase to 3 days in the future).
This is a permanent full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia. To be eligible to apply you must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
