Job Summary
QA Back-End Tester (Linux/Unix)
As a Back-End Tester (Linux/Unix) reporting to Sr. Manager Quality Assurance youll play a critical role in safeguarding the quality and reliability of Nasdaqs Trade Surveillance platform a globally deployed compliance solution trusted by marketplaces regulators and market participants worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
Design implement and execute end-to-end test strategies that ensure software meets defined quality standards and client requirements.
Analyze system requirements and business processes to identify testing scope risks and mitigation approaches.
Drive defect resolution by performing root cause analysis raising issues and tracking them through to completion.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing frameworks documentation and release engineering processes.
Collaborate with global teams to support integration regression and system testing across product releases.
Required Qualifications
68 years of experience in server-side or back-end software testing with strong proficiency in Unix/Linux command-line environments.
Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex test strategies independently from environment setup through to completion.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured methodical approach.
Clear communicator with the ability to present testing strategies and challenge ambiguous requirements confidently.
Experience working with defect tracking and automation tools in an agile or continuous delivery environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing applications hosted in cloud environments.
Background in compliance surveillance or regulated financial services.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
This position will be located in Sydney Australia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 2 days a week in-office subject to change providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
This is a permanent full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia. To be eligible to apply you must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
