QA Back-End Tester (Linux/Unix)

As a Back-End Tester (Linux/Unix) reporting to Sr. Manager Quality Assurance youll play a critical role in safeguarding the quality and reliability of Nasdaqs Trade Surveillance platform a globally deployed compliance solution trusted by marketplaces regulators and market participants worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Design implement and execute end-to-end test strategies that ensure software meets defined quality standards and client requirements.

• Analyze system requirements and business processes to identify testing scope risks and mitigation approaches.

• Drive defect resolution by performing root cause analysis raising issues and tracking them through to completion.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing frameworks documentation and release engineering processes.

• Collaborate with global teams to support integration regression and system testing across product releases.

Required Qualifications

• 68 years of experience in server-side or back-end software testing with strong proficiency in Unix/Linux command-line environments.

• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute complex test strategies independently from environment setup through to completion.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured methodical approach.

• Clear communicator with the ability to present testing strategies and challenge ambiguous requirements confidently.

• Experience working with defect tracking and automation tools in an agile or continuous delivery environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing applications hosted in cloud environments.

• Background in compliance surveillance or regulated financial services.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

This position will be located in Sydney Australia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 2 days a week in-office subject to change providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

This is a permanent full-time role so candidates should have full working rights in Australia. To be eligible to apply you must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
