Our Australian team consists of approximately 50 highly skilled engineers and it is expanding rapidly due to the growth of large-scale hybrid projects.

Solar & Storage Solutions for Energy Efficiency Equans

What youll be leading

AsaProtectionandControlEngineeryouwillplayacriticalroleinthedesignimplementationandcommissioningofelectricalprotectionsystemsforlargescalephotovoltaic(solarfarm)projectsacrossAustralia.

Youwillberesponsibleforensuringthesafereliableandefficientoperationofhigh-voltage(HV).

Youll report to the Head of substation.

Your main responsibilities:

• DesignHVprotectionschemesforgrid-tiedsolarfarms().
• Performcoordinationandselectivitystudiesforprotectionsettings.
• Configureandtestprotectionrelays().
• SupportFactoryAcceptanceTesting(FAT)SiteAcceptanceTesting(SAT)andcommissioning.

• Reviewandvalidategridcompliancestudies(includingR1/R2submissionsforAEMO).
• Troubleshootandresolveprotection-relatedissuesduringconstructionandoperationphases.

• EnsurealignmentwithAustraliangridcodesandnetworkoperatorstandards.
• LiaisewithNSPsandAEMOduringtheconnectionapprovalprocess.
• Contributetotechnicalriskassessmentsandsupportprojectdeliveryschedules.

The profile were looking for

• Masters/Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Power Systems or a related field
• 35 years of experience in Protection & Control engineering
• Experience managing recruitment employee relations and performance management processes.

• StrongunderstandingofHVsystems(33kV66kV132kVandabove)andprotectionprinciples.
• Experiencewithrelayconfigurationtools(600).
• FamiliaritywithAustraliangridconnectionprocessesandstandards.
• Abilitytointerpretsingle-linediagramsprotectionschematicsandinterlockinglogics.
• Excellentproblem-solvingskillsandabilitytoworkindependentlyandinmultidisciplinaryteams
