Were looking for a Protection & Control Design Engineer who enjoys working collaboratively to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver infrastructure that communities rely on every day.
In this role youll work alongside experienced engineers project managers and field teams to develop high-quality protection and control designs for Zone Substation projects. Youll be supported by a knowledgeable team that values continuous learning knowledge sharing and delivering great outcomes together.

What Youll Be Doing
- Deliver Feeder protection and control designs for Zone Substation and Distribution Lines projects including Feeder circuit breakers ACRs Sectionalisers and Fault Detecting Switches including but not limited to Indoor Substations Transformer circuit breakers. .
- Prepare engineering calculations protection settings reports schematics panel layouts and design documentation.
- Review and verify protection and control engineering designs to ensure quality and compliance.
- Provide engineering and commissioning support to internal teams and delivery partners as required.
- Investigate protection system issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
- Assist with project planning estimating and technical specifications related to the secondary and protection settings designs.
- Work closely with stakeholders to deliver safe high-quality project outcomes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice.
- Support and share knowledge with colleagues across the business.
What Youll Bring
Were looking for someone who enjoys working with others takes pride in delivering quality work and is motivated by making a positive contribution.
Ideally youll have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Experience in Protection & Control design within substations or electrical utility environments.
- Knowledge of protection systems SCADA and control equipment.
- Working Knowledge & understanding of various protection systems and software including Pacsis Ausnet SDME Noja Power CMS & Proview NXG.
- Experience preparing engineering documentation and technical designs.
- Familiarity with Australian Standards and IEC standards.
- Knowledge of SAP systems is preferable but not essential.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high quality standards.
