Job Summary

Project Manager (Control Systems Rail Infrastructure)

Location: Rockhampton / Mackay / Brisbane

Remuneration/Benefit: Competitive salary (180k -210k inclusive of superannuation) and attractive employee benefits

About the role: To lead and successfully deliver large-scale safety-critical Control Systems infrastructure projects on behalf of Aurizon Network on the Central Queensland Coal Network. Role focused on but not limited to the delivery on complex brownfield relay to PBI interlocking renewals and supporting power and telecommunication system upgrades. These projects require management of a complex set of stakeholders including internal and external design and delivery teams in a challenging regulatory environment.

  • Develop and deliver project plans across scope cost schedule and quality
  • Build WBS budgets and timelines to keep projects on track
  • Manage and control project delivery in line with business and legal standards
  • Track performance and proactively manage risks issues and changes
  • Provide clear updates to stakeholders on progress cost and time impacts
  • Close projects end to end including financials audits and asset handover
  • Support Program Managers across complex multi discipline projects and resources

About you: Demonstrated qualifications and capabilities to successfully deliver complex projects within a Control System Rail Infrastructure environments.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Engineering Business Construction or Project Management preferred
  • Project Management certification highly regarded
  • Significant experience delivering projects within Control Systems environments highly valued
  • Proven experience managing large and complex projects

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in a commercial setting
  • Advanced knowledge of project frameworks tools and governance
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication negotiation and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills in fast paced high pressure environments
