Project Lawyer - Infrastructure Delivery
About the Employer
Our client is an infrastructure engineering and construction contractor delivering transport civil and energy projects. Its teams work across design construction and project delivery in Australia.
The Opportunity
Provide practical legal and commercial advice to a major station development team based on site in Parramatta. Working closely with the Project Director and delivery colleagues you will manage live contractual risks and support complex procurement claims and statutory compliance.
Your Responsibilities
Advise on head-contract interpretation allocation of risk and legal compliance.
Draft and negotiate subcontracts consultancy appointments and major supply agreements.
Support variations extensions of time contractual notices and security-of-payment claims.
Resolve supplier and subcontract issues early to reduce dispute risk.
Coordinate commercial administration interfaces with clients and utility partners.
Maintain alignment with project governance statutory obligations and corporate risk frameworks.
Requirements
Skills Education and Requirements
An LL.B or JD and a current NSW practising certificate.
Ten to fifteen years of post-qualification experience in construction engineering or infrastructure law in private practice or in-house.
Major civil rail tunnelling or station project experience under design-and-construct or alliance delivery models.
Strong knowledge of Australian construction law standard contracts and security-of-payment regimes.
Practical advice and ability to influence engineers commercial managers and external stakeholders.
