About the Opportunity
There is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld) for this position to be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. The position is therefore only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating the planning implementation monitoring and reporting of the Suicide Prevention Education and Training project across participating Cape York communities.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
Skills And Experiences
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
- National Police Check within the last 3 months or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
- Diploma qualification in Community Services Mental Health Project Management or discipline relevant to the position
- Demonstrated experience of more than 3 years working in the social and community services sector preferably with Aboriginaland/or Torres Strait Islander people
- Experience working in suicide prevention social and emotional wellbeing mental health or community development programs
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing projects including community engagement preparing project documentation monitoring and evaluating projects
