At Westpac were undertaking significant transformation across our Risk division with a particular focus on evolving and strengthening our Credit Risk capabilities. As we continue to deliver critical business and regulatory outcomes were looking for an experienced Program Director to help drive large-scale transformation across our Credit Risk portfolio.
What is the role
Youll play a key leadership role across the Credit Risk Release Train bringing together squads stakeholders and delivery teams to ensure priorities are aligned dependencies are effectively managed and outcomes are delivered with discipline transparency and pace.
Working closely with Product Owners Scrum Masters Data & Technology stakeholders and Delivery Practice teams youll create the conditions for successful delivery at scale by driving alignment visibility and predictable delivery outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading Release Train planning cadence governance and execution to drive predictable and successful delivery outcomes.
- Coordinating complex cross-squad and cross-functional dependencies ensuring risks issues and impediments are identified and resolved early.
- Driving disciplined delivery reporting transparency and escalation pathways across the transformation portfolio.
- Partnering with Product Technology and Risk stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into achievable delivery plans and commitments.
- Coaching and influencing delivery teams Product Owners and Scrum Masters to improve flow delivery maturity and continuous improvement
What do I need
Were seeking an experienced Program Director with a strong track record of leading large-scale transformation initiatives within complex cross-functional environments. You bring deep expertise in agile delivery program management and release coordination coupled with the ability to navigate ambiguity influence senior stakeholders and drive successful delivery outcomes.
- Proven experience using delivery tools such as Jira Confluence and Planview to support planning governance reporting and delivery transparency.
- Deep understanding of agile delivery practices including release trains program increment planning backlog management and continuous improvement within large-scale transformation environments.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate delivery status risks dependencies and trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
- Strong influencing and relationship-building capabilities enabling you to build trust and alignment across Product Technology Risk and delivery teams.
- The confidence to challenge constructively address complex issues and escalate risks proactively to keep delivery outcomes on track.
- A collaborative and outcome-focused approach with the ability to lead through influence and foster high-performing teams.
