Metrea is actively building its presence in Australia as part of a deliberate globally coordinated expansion into the Asia-Pacific region. Our Asia-Pacific Market Group headquartered in Brisbane with an additional office in Perth is the enterprises dedicated regional interface connecting Australias national security community with Metreas full suite of capabilities across three core domains: Aerospace Electromagnetic & Cyber and Digital & Synthetic. Metrea is now bringing that same depth of mission expertise and proven operating model to Australia.

Underpinning these capabilities is a global network of Support Groups spanning people finance platform operations legal and engagement ensuring that as we grow in Australia we do so with the full weight of an established global enterprise behind us.

Position Summary

In this role you will manage the core daytoday transactional accounting activities that keep our financial operations running smoothly. Youll ensure our accounting records are timely accurate detailed and fully compliant with AU GAAPproviding the foundation the organization relies on for sound financial decisionmaking.

What Youll Do

• Execute the companys accounting and finance procedures with accuracy and consistency
• Strong emphasis on Project Accounting particularly revenue recognition
• Generate and input financial transactions into the companys ERP system (D365)
• Perform diligent selfreview of all entries prior to submission
• Develop a strong understanding of complex processes including revenue recognition fixed assets project accounting and accruals
• Complete the companys monthly close process in a timely and organized manner
• Analyse monthly financial results to ensure accuracy before final submission
• Investigate monthly variances against forecast and clearly communicate findings
• Prepare detailed general ledger account reconciliations
• Ensure all subledgers reconcile to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Verify proper recording of intercompany transactions
• Communicate monthly financial results with clarity and reliability
• Apply sound judgment initiative and attention to detail when addressing complex ac-counting issues
• Manage relationship with the ATO and ensure full compliance with all ATO requirements
• Take ownership of and manage the company credit card facility

What You Bring

• Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles and the practical application of accounting theory including project accounting principles
• Experience of operating ERP systems
• Strong analytical and accounting skills with the ability to interpret and use data effectively
• Advanced Microsoft Excel
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong command of the English language both oral and written
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management
• Act as a key finance business partner to Project Managers
• Demonstrated commitment to company values and professional integrity
• Demonstrated eagerness and enthusiasm to learn grow and adapt within a rapidly evolving enterprise

In addition to the above any of the following would be beneficial:

• Experience improving processes or enhancing financial workflows
• Prior exposure to cross-functional collaboration or supporting multiple business units
• Knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience of collaborating internationally
• Experience of working in the defence industry
• CPAA CA ANZ or equivalent
