Job Summary

Expression of Interest (EOI) Contractor Services

Piano Vocal and Speech & Communication Tuition

St Peters Lutheran College Springfield is seeking expressions of interest from qualified independent contractors to provide student tuition. This engagement will be managed in accordance with the Colleges Procurement Policy and Procedures.

Scope of Work and Services Required

The successful contractor will:

  • Deliver high-quality and engaging one-on-one or small group tuition of students from Years 1-12.
  • Support students in preparing for performances exams (must be able to prepare Diploma level repertoire) competitions and College events.
  • Monitor and assess student progress providing meaningful and constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive enthusiastic and supportive learning environment that reflects the Colleges commitment to excellence.
  • Contribute to the ongoinggrowth innovation and performance culture of the St Peters Performing Arts Program.

Duration

  • Commencing July 2026
  • Term-time delivery
  • Up to 25 hours of tuition a week
  • Contract duration to be confirmed following evaluation

Contractor Profile

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Music Music Education Performance or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching piano vocal or speech & communication across a range of ages and abilities but with a particular focus on Year 1-12.
  • Experience in ensemble direction and chamber music coaching (highly regarded).
  • Strong pedagogical knowledge including technique development and appropriate repertoire selection.
  • Understanding of AMEB Trinity or other recognised examination systems.
  • Ability to inspire students and foster a growth-minded practice culture.

You are an enthusiastic and motivational educator who brings energy skill and a genuine love of teaching music and performance. You demonstrate excellent communication skills a collaborative mindset and the ability to connect with students of all ages and backgrounds. You are committed to upholding St Peters high musical standards while modelling patience professionalism and student-centred teaching. Experience working in a school setting maintaining an established home studio and performing professionally will be highly regarded. You will also be expected to support and engage with the Colleges Student Protection Policy and procedures.

Evaluation Criteria

EOIs will be assessed based on:

  • Qualifications relevant experience and demonstrated capability in piano vocal or speech & communication.
  • Risk considerations including child safety compliance.

Contractors are asked to submit:

  • Evidence of relevant qualifications.
  • Capability Statement outlining experience teaching history teaching philosophy or methodology and any areas of specialisation.
  • Proof of insurance (public liability).
  • Proposed availability.
  • Copy of Current Paid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).

Terms and Conditions

  • The College reserves the right to accept or reject any expression of interest.
  • Engagement will be subject to a formal contract.
  • All services must comply with College policies including child safety standards and all relevant legislation.
