Principal Senior Principal Structural Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Principal Civil Engineer to join our QLD Civil team. The primary purpose of this position is to lead large-scale rehabilitation and infrastructure works and provide high level technical support and direction in relation to civil engineering services for key projects for our clients.
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and approving associated technical work directly related to the discipline and in project management capacities
- Providing technical expertise and advice through all stages of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies design strategies construction to system integration and support
- Manage project work technically and contractually to ensure that it meets technical requirements
- Lead Quality Assurance QA and Quality Control QC of Civil design projects
- Review and sign off on engineering and technical outputs such as reports engineering principles & studies to ensure compliance to relevant standard
- Delivery and coordination of projects and proposals
- Financial management of projects by monitoring the actual time and cost expended on the total project against the budget informing client of any changes in scope of work or other causes of variances from project resources.
- Lead a team of engineers providing technical advice and direction to all employee levels through technical challenges and issues.
- Participating in client management and business development
Qualifications :
Ideally you will have a minimum of 15 years professional experience in civil and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects with demonstrated leadership capabilities and exceptional technical expertise in civil engineering within a consultancy environment.
You will also have:
- Relevant tertiary Civil Engineering degree
- CPEng and/or RPEQ high desired
- Extensive QLD experience in concept to execution phases of multi-disciplinary civil design projects including project management road design detailed and bulk earthworks design construction quality assurance drainage water management design and general civil works
- Leadership of projects and proposals overseeing design budgets schedules client relationships and business development all while following projects from concept through to construction.
- Prior experience working on resource projects
- Strong knowledge and application of applicable Client Austroads TMR Local Government and Regulatory Authority standards relating to civil design and water management
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in preparing technical specifications for design documentation such as reports drawings BOQs and cost estimates.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships develop business and project manage
- Proven leadership skills and a desire to train guide and mentor less experienced engineers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholders at all levels
