NSW Fair Trading is looking for a PrincipalIntelligence Analyst to lead our Intelligence team. About the team The Intelligence unit is a highly motivatedand specialist team that produces complex and sensitive intelligence productsto identify high risk regulatory and criminal activities. As part of NSW FairTrading we support investigations prosecutions and proactive operations toensure that the NSW public businesses and communities are protected. Your Responsibilities: - Lead and guide the team to build a positive highperforming culture focused on teamwork accountability and delivering strong outcomes through innovative intelligence and analytics. To be successful in this role you willdemonstrate: - Sound written verbal and interpersonal skills with a capacity for active listening and respectful communication. - It is a requirement of this role to obtain and hold baseline security clearance. For this purpose you must be an Australian Citizen.

The team develops targeting strategies forcompliance campaigns monitors closed and open source intelligence toproactively identify regulatory and compliance risks and supportsinvestigations teams with developing and pursuing high impact prosecutions.
The Principal Intelligence Analyst will beresponsible for building a team that will support three compliance andenforcement branches in identifying high-risk regulated
Building client relationships and finding new ways to support operational teams to achieve compliance priorities
Proactively identifying opportunities to add value through new projects new team capabilities and better ways of working
Developing and implementing intelligence gathering and analysis methodologies across the team in close partnership with data science and analytics streams.
Driving a culture of responsiveness attention to detail and continuous improvement across a team of 6 Intelligence Analysts.
The ideal candidate will be curiouscreative and committed to driving continuous improvement in the team.
The role includes hybrid workingarrangements with a requirement to attend in office once per week atParramatta and on an as-needed basis.
- Develop and manage intelligence and information strategies that support a riskbased intelligenceled regulatory approach for the people of NSW.
- Provide expert advice by using advanced data analytics to develop intelligence products that help reduce risks across regulated sectors and protect the community.
- Lead special projects and give specialist advice on how changes to laws regulations or policies may affect the organisations ability to use intelligence to support regulatory work.
- Improve systems and processes that support staff development and ensure the team stays up to date with relevant legislation policies and procedures.
- Work closely with senior leaders to support organisational planning and help optimise operations to deliver innovative regulatory services.
- Achieve results through the efficient use of resources and display a commitment to high quality intelligence products.
- Show drive and motivation an ability to self-reflect and a commitment to learning.
- Understanding of critical thinking techniques and operate within legislative requirements.
- Appointment and ongoing assignment may be subject to restrictions and the satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screening in accordance with relevant Legislation and/or related policies.

Salary Grade 11/12 with the base salary for this role starting at 154231 base plus superannuation
