The Development Coordination Authority (DCA) has been established as part of the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure as the authoritative NSW Government source of technical input across the planning system. The Authority brings together a deep multi-disciplinary capability inside the planning department specialists in natural hazards environment heritage water transport and other disciplines and delivers it to decision makers to help shape development outcomes across NSW.

Joining the DCA presents a unique opportunity to help build and embed a new model for delivering technical input into the planning system working alongside DCAs specialists to provide coordinated expert advice and decisions that shape housing infrastructure and sustainable communities across the State.

The role

This role leads complex highpriority reform projects that simplify and strengthen the policy and legislative frameworks the DCA operates within. Youll take ideas from problem definition through to delivery working closely with systems policy and stakeholders to modernise planning practices remove decisionmaking barriers and improve development outcomes across NSW.

Working in a fastmoving highprofile environment youll balance diverse stakeholder interests while driving systemwide improvements that support housing priorities and longterm reform. The role calls for strong judgement deep planning expertise and the ability to turn evidence and data into practical changes that are understood adopted and sustained.

What is an essential requirement:

  • Degree qualification in a related relevant discipline

Eligibility Eligible employees are required to be at-grade or at an equivalent level; and either ongoing public service employees or fixed term employees who have been comparatively assessed at-grade.
