Job Summary

In this newly created permanent full time position within the Employee Wellbeing team you will lead the delivery of Queensland Rails organisational health psychology interventions and initiatives contributing to the Organisational Health and Wellbeing Program and promoting psychological wellbeing across the workforce.

You will make a meaningful contribution by:

  • Leading psychosocial hazard identification and risk assessment ensuring alignment with legislation and best practice.
  • Providing expert advice and oversight on complex psychosocial matters including incidents investigations and high risk cases while strengthening organisational capability through education and coaching.
  • Reviewing designing and integrating policies WHS processes and operational practices to embed consistent psychosocial risk management across the organisation.
  • Designing implementing and evaluating organisational programs and strategy initiatives (e.g. Healthy Minds Strategy) ensuring measurable outcomes and sustained compliance.

This role includes duties that may involve exposure to sensitive and potentially distressing material including allegations of misconduct workplace complaints and other complex interpersonal matters. While Queensland Rail provides systems training and support services to mitigate risk such exposure may contribute to vicarious trauma or emotional fatigue. Applicants should consider their capacity to perform these inherent requirements and engage with appropriate support mechanisms where needed.

People who count.

To be considered for this position you will:

  • Hold current registration as a psychologist (mandatory) ideally with a background in organisational psychology
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret and apply legislation as it relates to psychosocial hazards
  • Possess strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at a strategic level and build strong working relationships
  • Have experience leading or mentoring others (desirable).
  • Have proven experience managing sensitive personal information and navigating confidentiality with key stakeholders in Ethics Employee Relations and Safe Station.
  • Be able to travel across QLD as required
