Pressure Pipe Welder

CrewSELECT is seeking an experienced Trade Qualified Boilermaker/Welder to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company specialising in pressure equipment pipework and skid fabrication for the industrial mining and oil & gas sectors.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the fabrication welding assembly and testing of pressure equipment and fabricated products while ensuring all work complies with Australian Standards and company quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate skid frames pressure vessels and pipe spools to specification
• Perform MIG (GMAW/FCAW) TIG (GTAW) and MMAW welding
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication plans
• Conduct hydrostatic testing inspections and quality documentation
• Operate workshop machinery and assist with occasional site installations

Skills & Experience

• Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication (Boilermaker/Welder)
• Strong experience with MIG TIG and MMAW welding processes
• Previous GP/SP welding experience within manufacturing mining or oil & gas
• Ability to fabricate from engineering drawings with exceptional attention to detail
• Positive attitude strong work ethic and commitment to safety

Essential Requirements

• Trade Qualified Boilermaker/Welder
• Ability to pass DN50 6G GTAW and DN150 1G GMAW/FCAW weld tests
• Queensland Forklift Licence (or ability to obtain)
• Physically fit with full Australian working rights
• Strong understanding of quality systems and safe work practices

Highly Regarded

• Experience fabricating pressure vessels and process piping
• Oil & Gas industry experience
• Experience manufacturing jigs and fixtures
• Machining and workshop equipment experience
• Own tools
