About the role
The Preschool Support Officer role sits within the Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) division and provides support across NSW public preschools to embed the Aboriginal Cultural Safety Framework through practical advice resources and culturally responsive practices. The responsibilities include:
- Guiding preschools in using framework tools and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in practice.
- Monitoring reviewing and reporting on framework progress across NSW public preschools.
- Assisting with preparing briefings presentations and communications materials.
- Participating in preschool networks and working groups to support positive outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
- Building partnerships with Aboriginal organisations community groups and stakeholders to promote shared cultural values.

About you -
- Strong collaboration skills to build partnerships with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to work in a high-volume environment with competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Departments Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Departments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood Education and/or equivalent experience.
- Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employment.
- Ability to travel to NSW public preschool locations as required.
