PRAP Plus Worker

Community Housing Limited is seeking a Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP) Plus Worker to provide high-quality case coordination and practical support to customers who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Reporting to the Regional Homelessness Services Coordinator you will help customers build independence safety self-esteem wellbeing and quality of life by supporting access to private rental opportunities and helping households sustain safe and stable tenancies.

This role is based in our Bairnsdale office. It offers a 12-month fixed term contract (with possibility of extension) working part-time 30 hours per week. It offers a competitive salary salary packaging the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

What youll do

In this role youll coordinate support for customers to strengthen their capacity to access and sustain private rental housing. Youll complete holistic assessments provide information and advocacy connect customers with support services and social and economic opportunities and work closely with CHL teams and external partners to deliver coordinated customer-focused support.

Youll make an impact by:

• Completing holistic assessments that recognise the causes and impacts of homelessness.
• Providing information advocacy referrals and practical support to customers.
• Coordinating customer access to identified support services and social and economic opportunities.
• Helping households build the knowledge confidence and skills to access and maintain private rental tenancies.
• Building effective working relationships with private rental market stakeholders to create and leverage opportunities.
• Working closely with tenancy services support coordination teams and external partners to provide customers with the full suite of available supports.
• Maintaining accurate records in required systems and contributing to a safe respectful and compliant working environment.

What Youll Bring

• Experience delivering support services and/or referral services for people experiencing vulnerability or social disadvantage.
• Qualifications and/or experience in a human services framework community services housing homelessness or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the support service sector including community public and private rental housing pathways.
• At least two years experience in a similar role ideally supporting people to access or sustain housing.
• Strong communication advocacy stakeholder engagement problem-solving and organisational skills.
• A positive and balanced approach to work with a commitment to CHLs values safety and inclusive workplace culture.
• A current Driver Licence.
