The starting base salary is $114466 plus 12.75% superannuation. With the current roster and applicable penalties you can expect to earn $120K per year.
Your opportunity
Queensland Rail is currently seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Planner Electrical to join our Asset Maintenance team in Toowoomba or Maryborough.
This is an ideal role for a plant electrician who enjoys variety independence and travel. Working across a broad regional footprint youll primarily be responsible for performing electrical inspections preventative maintenance fault finding and breakdown repairs on Queensland Rails plant fleet. Youll spend significant time travelling to worksites throughout Regional Queensland working alongside maintenance crews to ensure our equipment remains safe compliant and operational.
While there is some planning and coordination involved this is a hands-on electrical role with a strong focus on maintaining and improving the reliability of critical rail maintenance equipment.
What youll be doing:
Develop and implement effective maintenance plans for electrical plant and equipment.
Coordinate scheduling of works and resource allocation to meet operational timeframes.
Ensure maintenance services support plant reliability safety and operational continuity.
Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to meet performance outcomes.
Monitor and adjust maintenance schedules in response to changing priorities and asset condition.
Complete low voltage and extra low voltage electrical inspections and preventive maintenance on plant as required.
Attend to break downs and complete corrective maintenance as required.
Hours and Salary
This role offers a varied work schedule including a mix of 5-day weeks 4-day weeks or 9-day work blocksdepending on machinery availability workload and location.
You will be expected to complete an extensive level of travel
Your home station will be Toowoomba servicing sites across Regional Queensland.
About you
Must have an Electrical Fitter/Mechanic Trade Certificate
Must have strong safety focus
Must hold a current manual drivers licence
Must have capacity to travel and work throughout regional Queensland
Skilled in planning scheduling and resource management for plant maintenance operations with a focus on achieving reliability and operational targets.
Strong knowledge of plant maintenance standards and processes with the ability to analyse issues solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
