Key Responsibilities:
Equipment management
Process improvement
Implementation of novel productivity initiatives
Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability during scheduled shutdowns.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventative Action (CAPA) processes to improve long-term equipment performance.
Provide high-level technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
Develop internal engineering capability through coaching and technical training.
Maintain and continuously improve the sites MEX preventative maintenance system and asset database.
Ensure SOPs operating manuals and supplier documentation remain current and accessible.
Evaluate plan and implement capital improvement projects.
Manage projects from concept through commissioning including:
Scope
Budget
Timeline
Risk
Stakeholder management
Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance.
Lead and coordinate the maintenance trades team and contractors.
Ensure planned maintenance is completed safely on time and within budget.
Promote a proactive maintenance culture and continuous improvement mindset.
Build strong communication across departments to identify maintenance improvement opportunities.
Maintain appropriate controls across:
Plant maintenance
Warehousing
Logistics
Staff management
Expenditure
Occupational Health & Safety
Ensure maintenance procedures and business processes are followed consistently.
Communicate procedural updates effectively across relevant stakeholders.
Support compliance with company systems and controls.
Complete additional leadership and administrative duties as required by the business.
Maintain current industry knowledge and engineering best practices.
Participate in ongoing professional development and competency training.
Foster a collaborative high-performing team culture.
Develop employee capability through the Skill Matrix and Individual Development Plans.
Operate within delegated financial authority limits.
Qualifications Experience & Skills Required:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum five years experience within food or dairy manufacturing or production environments.
Previous experience within Dairy Manufacturing or FMCG highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems production equipment and maintenance practices.
Experience using MEX maintenance software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Resourceful and capable of working within changing environments.
Strong continuous improvement mindset.
