Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planning Specialist to join our Kingsgrove Roastery on a 7-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will play a key role in driving effective production planning ensuring optimal use of resources and supporting the timely delivery of high-quality products.

This role is ideal for someone with strong SAP expertise and a background in manufacturing or supply chain planning who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

  • Develop and manage weekly production plans aligned to demand forecasts and plant capacity
  • Coordinate export production requirements
  • Partner with Demand Planning and Operations teams to resolve planning issues
  • Troubleshoot SAP APO-related production planning issues
  • Support production leave planning to meet operational requirements
  • Produce extended production forecasts as required
  • Plan and order raw materials based on forecast demand
  • Maintain and update SAP master data and Bills of Materials (BOMs)

Warehouse & Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate weekly transport to third-party logistics (3PL) providers
  • Manage SAP stock transactions and bookings
  • Create purchase orders and shipment documentation
  • Maintain accurate and timely records
  • Build effective relationships across factory logistics providers and 3PL partners

Production Order Control

  • Ensure production orders are completed accurately and on time within SAP
  • Resolve system discrepancies (e.g. COGI errors write-offs)
  • Manage Loscam pallet accounts and variances

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse production performance and report on plan vs actual variances
  • Identify and implement corrective actions
  • Deliver daily weekly monthly and YTD reporting
  • Support audits compliance requirements and improvement initiatives

Work Health & Safety

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture aligned with ANZ WHS standards
  • Participate in risk assessments incident investigations and audits
  • Ensure compliance with safe work practices and procedures
  • Contribute to ongoing safety improvements and reporting

About You

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing supply chain or production planning
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP in a planning/production environment
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and data skills
  • Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office capability
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and change management
